Rosette Clutch
Have you seen these fabrics? Anna Maria Horner has obviously passed both her beauty and talent down to her daughter Juliana, who has made an absolutely stunning debut with this line called Rosette at Joann Fabrics. I fell in love immediately with the soft vintage look of these designs. The florals are sweet, and the wicker print is genius. They look even more gorgeous in person.
Last night my amazingly wonderful dad handed me some money and insisted that my husband and I go to a steakhouse for dinner on them while he and my mom watched the kids. And after walking on a grateful cloud for most of today looking forward to tonight's special event, I decided at the last minute that a date night clutch was in order. It took me all of thirty minutes to sew together this little bag which I've now decided is my favorite clutch of all time.
Sometimes life is very, very good.

Oh my the fabric is gorgeous (as is your clutch, I love the foldover feature!). Hope the fabric makes it's way here to Australia!
ReplyDeleteIsn't that nice of him! So nice when family surprises us like that : ) your clutch is sweet
ReplyDeleteLove your clutch. What a great way to remember such a kindness.
ReplyDeleteMore gorgeous fabrics from Joann! Love your new clutch - elegant and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteSo gorgeous. Really love these fabrics but no Joanns here so I'll just have to admire them online
ReplyDeleteLove the fabrics you chose! Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou whipped this up in thirty minutes? Amazing! Those fabrics are lovely, she has her mom's love of vintage designs with a modern flair. I hear you about JoAnn Fabrics - I only go in there when I have to and it is usually just for notions. I am going to have to check out this fabric, though !!
ReplyDeleteabsolutely beautiful! I love your clutch! Your Dad sounds delightful too! :)
ReplyDeleteSo nice! Have yet to see the fabric but the clutch is darling!! Yay for date night!!

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautifully written post! Love your clutch!!
ReplyDeleteFabulous clutch! I feel the same way about my JoAnn's, plus they now are next to a Chinese buffet place so it is impossible to park.
ReplyDeleteI agree about the customer service at Joann's and it angers me that they are charging quilt store prices without the quilt store customer service and expertise. The Joann's store closest to me used to have several awesome people but they have since retired/moved on. But I agree about the Juliana Horner fabrics - they are so pretty!!!!
ReplyDeleteThe customer service at my Joann's is good...but there is just always a really long line at the cutting counter. I grab a number first, and then go pick out my fabric while I wait.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the clutch, and I love that new fabric line!! My Joann's has pretty good customer service if they're not too busy. Since it's so close, a quilt weeknight trip is no problem. It's just a nightmare on Saturdays.
ReplyDelete:) Kelly @ my Quilt Infatuation
That's stunning! I love the wicker print too - it reminds me of my grandmother.
ReplyDeleteWe don't have Joanns in Australia and my sentiments are the same as yours. Terrible customer service, untidy, lower quality fabric and things like threads are not necessarily cheaper. I will now only go if I have too. It's not the worth the hassle, especially if I've got three impatient kids with me.
ReplyDeleteMeant to say we don't have Joanns in Australia but we have a fabric chain store called Spotlight and my feelings about it are the same as yours about Joanns.
ReplyDeleteIs there a pattern for this clutch? It's really beautiful!!!
ReplyDeleteOh you're right, it's gorgeous! She Is very talented! Wish I hhad a Joann's near me :D sorry their service sucks near you (perhaps someone could show them your blog post;)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely pretty fabrics! Your clutch turned out cute. I get the same thing too when I go to Joann's at times. My only problem is I have to use them because we really don't have any other fabric shops around here, so I do have to order quite a bit online!
ReplyDeletethe clutch is very beautifull, why not try vintage fabrics like i do i make the cutesed kids clothes with vintage sheets ect.
