Sweetcakes Baking Party Set Tutorial

I'm so excited to be sharing a tutorial at Riley Blake Designs today! When they asked me to look at their new fabric lines for inspiration, I was immediately taken with the new Sweetcakes collection by Doodlebug Design Inc. With prints that showcase strawberries, cupcakes, hearts, and flowers, it seemed like the perfect backdrop for a little girl's baking party. And since both Valentine's Day and my oldest daughter's birthday are coming up in February, I'm definitely on the lookout for new party ideas! You get plenty of bang for your buck with this one -- it's actual four tutorials in one, including...

The Party Bag

The Cake Bunting

The Cake Rug

The Apron

Hop on over to Riley Blake Designs, and check it out!

Linking up to Plum & June.

  1. Congrats on a totally awesome set! I think my favorite is the little cake bunting, but only by a smidge...all of these are just darling! Heading on over to see how it's done. I think you made Riley Blake very very happy!

  2. Congrats!! Looks like you put a lot of hard work into the tutorial. Great job :) I'd love to make this set for a birthday present.

  3. Oh Heidi!! These are fabulous!! And I love your valentine pillow, too! Such inspiration!!

  6. This is the sweetest set! I love the extra little touches you added, like the selvages on the cake rug and the buttons on the bag. (The cake looks delicious too :D) Great job on the tutorial!

  7. Congratulations! Your little girl makes a cute (headless) model, I'm sure she loves it too. I'll tag the tutorial to check out later. Thanks! Jane

PS: I received a nice squishy package in the mail today. Thanks! I was inspired with a new BOM offered through Quietplay blog called AND Sew On that When I stitched the block there was a fabric in the bag that played well with some of my scraps! SO I already am using and appreciating your kindness.

  8. It is all so sweet Heidi! What a great idea - I'm excited to read the post!

  9. Congratulations! This set is so adorable! And the cake looks delicous.
