Rainbows
Rainbows...I love them.
My girls are always on the lookout for the colorful patches that sometimes shine through our windows onto the floor, and I'll admit that I've teared up at the sight of more than one rainbow in the sky after a California rainstorm. They are so rare, so achingly beautiful. They remind me of promises kept and love that won't let me go.
Just the sort of message that I wanted to share with a friend today through this little pillow.
Happy week, my friends.

love this little gem!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful message isn't it - I just read that story this morning :-)
ReplyDeleteLove! Both the pillow and rainbows and my Sunshine is a real addict. Most of her school art comes home colored as a rainbow.
ReplyDeleteSunshine on a cloudy day - beautiful rainbow cushion!!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely perfect with those dot and the Juliana Horner backing!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful muted tones (shades? Hues? Better look up my terminology!) I love this happy ode to the rainbow Heidi. Sounds like you and the kids have a great time.
ReplyDeleteRainbows are very special to me and when my 24 year old daughter was having chemo for breast cancer they somehow gave me reassurance that all would be well and thank God it was. Your phrase ' promises kept and love that would not let me go' is beautiful and was my experience.
ReplyDeleteLove your aesthetic Heidi, another beautiful project!
ReplyDeleteI love this sweet and happy pillow! I really like the contrast of the rainbow against the black and white dot fabric. I am so glad I saw this post! I have been making a bunch of long pillows lately and having some frustrations with envelope backing. For some reason, it never occurred to me to make the envelope opening go vertically rather than horizontally! :D
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty cheerful pillow! I just love the Juliana fabric on the back. That might be my favorite line of fabric ever!
