Key Pouch


Don't you love quick projects? I'm a huge fan of anything that can be sewn up in under an hour. As we get closer to the frenzy of gift giving opportunities that lasts from the end of spring through the beginning of summer, it's nice to have a few tricks up my sleeve. This key pouch pattern has been coming together in my mind over the past few days, and my sister's birthday tomorrow seemed like the perfect occasion to try it out. I pulled some black and white fabrics along with two favorite prints that I've been saving for a special occasion: Sea Flowers from Out to Sea by Sarah Jane and Polly Goes to Paris by Henry Glass. I threw in some pink Aurifil thread for a fun accent.


There are slots on the front for any plastic you need to carry with you, a zipper pouch on the side for cash, and a twill tape loop for your key chain. Throw in an Anthropologie gift card, and I'd say we've got a birthday present.

Tutorial, anyone? Let me know, and I'll put one together. I'm guessing I'm not the only one prepping for gift giving madness in the next month or two...

    That is adorable! I still use the surprisingly durable "University of Nebraska Residence Life" keychain/holder that I got my freshman year of college (um, over a decade ago). Useful thought it is, it would be nice to perhaps graduate to something a bit more grown up and stylish. So I vote yes on the tutorial! :)

    Oh my word, yes please! As a non-purse-carrier, I've been on the lookout for something to stash my stuff in... besides my back pocket. This is perfect, and made infinitely cuter with the fussy cutting. And Anthro card, of course. ;) Lucky sister!

    Very cute and useful project! The fussy cut Paris fabric is so adorable. I vote yes on the tutorial. I hardly ever carry a purse anymore, so I love having little pouches to carry my stuff in.
